05 · Methodology

Comparability before completeness.

Data as of 16 August 2026, based on 265 annual/ESG reports in the source folder, supplemented by company and exchange disclosures for critical gaps.

01

Overseas sales share

Overseas vehicle sales ÷ total vehicle sales

Calculated only when numerator and denominator are available for the same reporting scope and year.

02

Overseas revenue share

Overseas customer revenue ÷ comparable total revenue

For SAIC and GAC, the denominator is total operating revenue in the same geographic table; differences from headline revenue are annotated.

03

Missing data

Blank ≠ zero

Undisclosed or non-comparable values remain blank and appear as chart breaks; broader group or brand figures are not forced into the series.

Important scope note

FAW uses listed-entity scope; Dongfeng uses only 0489.HK; BAIC Motor uses only 1958.HK; Chery’s listed-company series starts in 2024. Most European disclosures are brand examples, growth rates or lower bounds, so no forced cross-company comparison is made.
